Position Overview:

The Directional Drill Crew Foreman leads the HDD crew and oversees the day-to-day drilling operation. This role combines crew leadership with hands-on field work, including equipment operation, troubleshooting, jobsite coordination, and supporting the crew as needed. The Foreman takes ownership of the crew, equipment, and work being performed while setting the standard for safety, quality and getting the job done right.

Description:

  • Lead and work alongside the HDD crew, including drill operators, locators, and laborers.
  • Read and follow bore plans, profiles, and project specifications to maintain proper grade, alignment, and depth.
  • Operate and monitor directional drilling equipment as needed.
  • Coordinate daily work with project managers, inspectors, locators, and other project personnel.
  • Set the standard for jobsite safety, productivity, quality, and professionalism.
  • Conduct daily equipment inspections and coordinate basic maintenance and repairs.
  • Monitor ground conditions, drilling fluids, bore progress, and tracking systems.
  • Identify and communicate potential issues before they impact safety, quality, or production.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of directional drilling experience, with strong HDD operator experience.
  • Previous Foreman or crew leadership experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of utility locating, potholing, bore profiles, and tracking systems.
  • Understanding of ground conditions and drilling fluids.
  • CDL License.
  • Ability to travel. Per diem and lodging provided.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Dependable, safety-minded, and willing to take ownership of the work and the crew.

Compensation

$32 – $40 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Position Overview:

The Directional Drill Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating HDD equipment and helping the crew complete each bore according to the project plans. This role combines equipment operation with hands-on field work, including monitoring the bore, working with the locator and crew, managing drilling conditions, and troubleshooting issues as they arise. The Operator takes pride in the equipment, pays attention to the details, and takes responsibility for getting the job done right.

Description:

  • Operate and monitor directional drilling equipment during bores, reaming, and pullback operations.
  • Read and follow bore plans, profiles, and project specifications.
  • Work closely with the locator and Foreman to maintain proper bore path, depth and alignment.
  • Monitor ground conditions, drilling fluids, equipment performance, and bore progress.
  • Make adjustments to drilling operations based on ground conditions and bore requirements.
  • Perform daily equipment inspections and assist with routine maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Communicate equipment, bore, and jobsite issues to the Foreman as they arise.
  • Assist the HDD crew with setup, cleanup, tooling changes, product handling, and other field work as needed.
  • Follow all company and project safety requirements and help keep the crew working safely.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of directional drilling experience preferred.
  • Experience operating HDD equipment preferred.
  • Knowledge of bore plans, tracking systems, drilling fluids, and ground conditions.
  • Ability to work effectively with a locator and HDD crew.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • CDL License preferred.
  • Ability to travel. Per diem and lodging provided.
  • Dependable, safety-minded, and willing to take ownership of the equipment and work being performed.

Compensation

$25 – $32 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Description:

Daily tasks can vary from outside/field work to inside computer work. Capturing field topography data and landmarks along with line features in farm fields in the 7-state area. Manipulating data from field to computer. Work will be performed primarily in farm fields and rural areas.

Qualifications:

  • Fundamental understanding of design surveys, construction staking, and as-built surveys
  • Highly familiar with land survey principles, practices, processes, methods and techniques
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Self-motivated with time management skills
  • Ability to travel (Per diem/Lodging included)
  • Valid driver’s license and candidate must be able to pass a Motor Vehicle Report background check
  • Trimble surveying equipment experience
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D Knowledge
  • Trimble Access experience
  • FarmWorks software experience
  • Proficient in sending different forms of files
